The project

Technical cccuracy in confined spaces, in Borgo Valsugana (Trentino-Alto Adige)

The intervention is part of the reorganisation project of the municipal car park in the cemetery area of Borgo Valsugana (TN). The site is characterised by limited space, restricted access and operational constraints that require reliable, highly controllable technical solutions. The client is Impresa Costruzioni Casarotto.

Project objective

Construction of cycle–pedestrian routes with a stable, long-lasting paving solution, consistent with the surrounding environment and feasible even under complex logistical conditions.

Technical solution adopted

A stabilized pavement was selected, consisting of a 10 cm structural layer of locally sourced stabilized aggregate, using the SOLID PAVE® stabilizing binder for the stabilization of the 10 cm pavement layer, with an anti-dust and anti-erosion surface finish applied using SOIL SEMENT® E.F., a high-performance, eco-friendly binder.

Construction phases

  1. On-site mixing of the aggregate with water and SOLID PAVE® using a mixing bucket
  2. Laying of the material with a paver within previously installed kerbs
  3. Compaction with a 3-tonne roller in multiple passes
  4. Manual surface application of SOIL SEMENT® E.F.

Operational aspects

The narrow width of the paths and difficult access conditions required the use of a compact roller with reduced size and weight, as well as manual application of the surface binder using a lance connected to a 1,000-litre tank. This operational approach makes it possible to work effectively even in contexts where architectural barriers and limited surfaces prevent the use of conventional machinery.

Result

The finished paving shows high strength and durability, visual uniformity and a solid, consistent surface texture, fully integrated into the surrounding environment.

Because the quality of a paving solution is not measured solely by its surface, but by the precision with which it is designed, built and controlled over time.
