The project
Intervention at Oltremare Riccione - Birds of Prey and Wildlife Area.
Inside the Oltremare theme park in Riccione, in an area dedicated to breeding and displays of diurnal raptors, Green Ways® carried out a soil stabilization and drainage intervention, with the aim of improving the usability of the spaces for schoolchildren and visitors, without altering the naturalistic environment.
Initial context
The original soil had a strong clay component and was completely impermeable. After a technical inspection, it was proposed to remove the top 10 cm of soil and insert geotextile drainage fabric connected to pipes for stormwater disposal, preventing stagnation and damage to the subgrade.
Stages of intervention
- Excavation preparation with natural edge shaping, used as temporary curbs for compaction.
- Laying of selected inert, tested to ensure permeability and compatibility with subsequent treatments.
- Manual application of SOLID PAVE®, which was done in several stages due to tight spaces and the presence of free-ranging animals (ducks, swans, birds of prey). The soil was mixed and worked with a simple agricultural tiller.
- Realization of plans and manual compaction.
- Final spraying with SOIL SEMENT® to provide surface consolidation, dust control and erosion protection.
